On 2002 model year Santa Fe's equipped with the automatic climate control option, anytime the12-volt power supply is removed, the HVAC display will default to a Celsius temperature value. When the vehicle arrives at your dealership, the temperature display will be displayed in Celsius since the "short connector" has been left in the open position during transportation. This bulletin provides the procedure for converting th e display to Fahrenheit.
During the Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) the "short connector" must be properly installed to allow interior lights and audio system to function normally.
The "short connector" is located in the passenger fuse compartment and needs to be rotated 180 degrees to enable the circuits to operate.
After the "short connector" has been fully seated, turn the ignition switch to the run position to activate the HVAC display. Then press both the "AMB" and the "TEMP(down)" buttons simultaneously for approximately 3 seconds. The display will change from Celsius to Fahrenheit.
