How to remove bug guts!!
Ok, This really works great!
Take a fabric
softener sheet (dryer sheet) and get it wet with the
garden hose until you see the "soap" come out of it.
Then wet down the front of the car where the bug
guts are baked on.
Then just use the dryer sheet
to wash off the bugs! It will not harm the finish and
works perfectly!
Then just rinse and finish
washing the car and there you go!

Re: How to remove bug guts!!
Nope! Someone in the Forum posted it last year but I
don't remember who it was.
It does work though!

Re: How to remove bug guts!!
I use that pre-made gravy that you can buy in a jar. I
spoon a little on each dead bug (and it works for bird
dropings as well). I let it soak in for a minute or two
then I let my dog lick it off - Clean as new and it
won't harm the paint (be sure your dog or neighbor's dog
if you're a cat person, doesn't have long
claws).
Actually I've been having luck with
rubbing alcohol (isopropanol) and a soft cloth. Dab some
on the bug / bird dropping let it soak, wipe it with the
alcohol saoked cloth until it's gone. It probably takes
the wax with it but it does work with the some elbow
grease.
I'll have to try the dryer sheet trick to
see if it's easier.

Re: How to remove bug guts!!
Alcohol will remove the wax. As far as I can tell the
dryer sheet would not since it isn't a "Chemical
Solvent". Give it a shot!
Tonyone, I don't think
I heard that from you but you might have said it before
I came aboard!

Re: How to remove bug guts!!
gopack,
I tried it and it works great! It works
better than the alcohol and even better than commercial
bug and tar removers I've tried. It takes very little
elbow grease, and a wet sponge or cloth to wipe off the
leftover soapy stuff. I don't think it takes off the wax
either.
I'm going to buy a box of Bounce and keep
it in the car.
Thanks!
